K-Tek is an advanced anti-friction metal treatment for ferrous (Fe) metals. This revolutionary new technology actually reacts with any ferrous based metal to make the surface smoother and harder. K-Tek is added to oil, hydraulic fluid, and greases to treat (automotive) engines, motors, transmissions, power steering units, and bearings that require grease.

K-TEK ACTUALLY TREATS THE METAL

K-Tek is not a traditional oil or grease additive, but a new concept in metal treatments. K-Tek is actually absorbed into the metal and adds no volume to the fluid into which it is added. K-Tek penetrates into ferrous metal and reduces friction on metal surfaces by up to 97% when compared to oil or grease alone.

Even under heavy pressure when oil barriers are "squeezed" from the metal surfaces,
K-Tek continues to protect the wear surfaces. K-Tek has no effect on any metal except ferrous (Fe).

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Adding K-Tek benefits the engine, transmission, power steering, machinery and other treated areas by significantly reducing wear and friction. K-Tek modifies metal surfaces, on a molecular level, at all friction areas. Reduced friction can best be illustrated using the industry standard Timken bearing test. In the Timken bearing test, a bearing is rotated in an oil bath and a metal "bullet" is lowered onto the bearing as increased weight is applied. The damage to the "bullet" and the time to achieve the damage reflect the anti-friction properties of the lubricant.

The results clearly shown a massive reduction in the size of the wear scar following treatment with K-Tek (see image above). The larger magnification also shows how smooth the surface of the metal has become.

K-Tek actually changes friction into "friction protection" as it rebuilds the metal surfaces using the by-products of the friction process. The pure iron that is worn off the friction area is modified and deposited into the low points of the friction surface producing as near as technically possible a perfectly smooth surface area. The resulting surface area has a "diamond-like-hardness" that increases the load threshold by up to 10 times.

IS K-Tek SAFE?


Unlike other anti-friction products, K-Tek is a unique synthetic formula that treats the metal at the molecular level. K-Tek contains no harmful fluropolymers, paraffin, chlorinated hydrocarbons, graphite, Teflon® ethers, black and non-ferrous metals, or ceramics.

K-Tek is not harmful to the environment and is biodegradable. This means that it can be used in sensitive situations such as food production, agriculture or where human contact may occur.

K-Tek has complete chemical affinity with mineral and synthetic petroleum and is soluble in all known lubricants and fluids. Because it is chemically inert, K-Tek does
not disturb the pH-balance of motor oil, automatic transmission and power steering fluid, hydraulic fluid, gear oil, or any grease. Plus, K-Tek blocks oxidizing processes on metal surfaces.

K-Tek will not void any OEM warranty. K-Tek meets or exceeds all DOD specifications per Attachment 1 - Appendix 3 of TACOM-TARDEC-DIVISION-PETH20-FUEL/LUBE and API-SAE lubrication standards.

Since K-Tek is absorbed into the metal, it does not increase fluid volume. No oil has to be drained prior to adding K-Tek.

USING K-TEK WILL DRAMATICALLY CUT ENERGY CONSUMPTION

LONG TERM ROAD TEST:
A field trial was carried out in June 2003 in the USA using 6 trucks travelling thousands of miles over the same route under the same conditions. The data was collated using the SAE J1321 fuel consumption test method.

3 trucks were treated with K-Tek and 3 trucks were left untreated. The 3 untreated trucks actually showed worse fuel consumption at the end of the test. However, the 3 treated trucks showed an improved fuel consumption of over 15%.

This equates to a saving of almost £2000 per truck during the test period.

REDUCED WEAR METALS
Wear Metal Analysis has clearly shown a reduction in iron particles in engine oil of 60% and in gearbox oil of 90% following treatment with K-Tek. This will result in extended component life of up to 225% for engines, gearboxes, axles and bearings.

The wear metal analysis also showed that oil was cooler following treatment and that all other wear metal levels were lower. This means that the oil remains effective for longer, contributing to extended component life.

When considering a manufacturing operation, treating machinery such as rollers, hydraulics, gearboxes, grinders, or any moving part can create significant reductions in friction leading to more efficient operation and less maintenance.
